Food Delivery Services Review

Image
The planner that I am loves convenience of delivery and budgeting. We've been doing Amazon Fresh for a couple years. Haagen is the only grocery store in our area and it's expensive so we don't use them on a regular basis. I also love the ability to see my cart before I check out so I can stay on budget and not get to the check stand and have sticker shock. It's worked well for us. However, since Amazon Fresh ditched the green totes and acquired Whole Foods, their quality has gone downhill. Their selection is slacking, they use awful frozen water bottles to keep stuff cold which doesn't, the produce quality is terrible, and half the time the packing ruins something in my order. I was on a quest to find a solution. I loved the idea of Click List from Fred Meyer but there wasn't one that was close enough to make sense and that still meant driving to the store (I know how lazy right?). Then I found Shipt. It's like Instacart. They have a few stores available b...

Meal Plan Week of July 30th

Summer is HOT and it's here to stay! We're keeping up the spirit of grilling and cooking outside as much as possible this week. Last week was delicious. Especially those pork burgers! Sorry I didn't capture any pictures. This week's menu: I found Beyond Burgers again! Stay tuned for another blog post on food delivery. Bye Bye Amazon Fresh! So of course we'll be grilling those up this week. I loved the foil packets so I wanted some other foil packet inspiration. We're doing Italian sausage and ravioli foil packs with peppers and onion! Check out #20 and #21 https://www.foodnetwork.com/grilling/grilling-central-how-tos/articles/50-things-to-grill-in-foil SO excited for Lobster Rolls!! I even found King's Sweet Hawaiian Sub Rolls!! https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/lobster-rolls-recipe0-1938206 Gotta throw in another veggie meal. Cooking this later in the week when it's supposed to cool down. https://www.thecookierookie.com/cauliflower-tikka-...

The heat is coming back! Trying to plan meals this week that don't require lots of hot cooking inside. I skipped last week because our meals were boring so sorry for not posting. Veggie Garden Update!

Looking good!! The zucchini is growing FAST! I can't wait! Radish, broccoli, and cucumber on one side doing well. The peppers are flourishing along with brussels, and carrots. Spinach is the only thing not looking great but for this being our first year I'm quite impressed and excited. Two types of tomatoes too - roma and cherry!

Meal Plan Week of July 8th - 13th

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July! We did some WORK to the house/yard for 4 days. Bring on summer now that our backyard, deck, garden, etc looks AMAZING! This week's meals come from cookbook inspiration. I have some good cook books I decided to bust those out this week. But first, can we talk about the delicious stuff we ate this last week? The ribs and homemade BBQ sauce were to DIE FOR! The s'mores ice cream was out of this world. Craig loved the cauliflower shawarma. This week I'm cooking out of the Dinner by Melissa Clark cookbook and Chrissy Teigen's first cookbook (her new one is on pre-order of course).

Crispy Prosciutto Egg Cups

New breakfast meal prep! It's a short week and I didn't want to make a whole frittata. This weeks' tasty breakfast is Crispy Prosciutto Egg Cups! Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray muffin tins and then line with prosciutto. Top meat with egg mixture. I used broccoli, cheese, and seasoned eggs. Bake at 375 for 20 min and voila! Egg cups!
