Food Delivery Services Review

The planner that I am loves convenience of delivery and budgeting. We've been doing Amazon Fresh for a couple years. Haagen is the only grocery store in our area and it's expensive so we don't use them on a regular basis. I also love the ability to see my cart before I check out so I can stay on budget and not get to the check stand and have sticker shock. It's worked well for us. However, since Amazon Fresh ditched the green totes and acquired Whole Foods, their quality has gone downhill. Their selection is slacking, they use awful frozen water bottles to keep stuff cold which doesn't, the produce quality is terrible, and half the time the packing ruins something in my order. I was on a quest to find a solution. I loved the idea of Click List from Fred Meyer but there wasn't one that was close enough to make sense and that still meant driving to the store (I know how lazy right?).

Then I found Shipt. It's like Instacart. They have a few stores available based on your area. For me it's Fred Meyer, Safeway, and QFC. You order online just like Fresh, select your ONE HOUR delivery window within that day or the next, and then basically your own personal shopper picks your groceries and delivers them to your door. She even texted me while she was at the store to see if I needed anything else. The only downside is you have to be there vs Fresh where they just leave them at your door. The price was the same if not cheaper, they had better selection, and the woman who did my deliver was SO nice she even brought them in and offered to help me unload them. What's even better is the membership cost is cheaper than Fresh. Fresh is $16 a month, Shipt is $8 a month. Winner!

Now onto another service I tried. Imperfect Produce! They get the "ugly" produce that doesn't sell at the store for super cheap. You get a box (small, medium, or large) and pick veggies only or fruit and veggie mix. Then you get to delete or add anything to your box and it's delivered 1x a week or every other. Our box was great! The quality was perfect I don't know how it doesn't sell in the store.

I even made homemade pickles with the cucumbers it came with! I added some extra seasoning (red pepper flakes, coriander, and more peppercorns)
