Food Delivery Services Review

Image
The planner that I am loves convenience of delivery and budgeting. We've been doing Amazon Fresh for a couple years. Haagen is the only grocery store in our area and it's expensive so we don't use them on a regular basis. I also love the ability to see my cart before I check out so I can stay on budget and not get to the check stand and have sticker shock. It's worked well for us. However, since Amazon Fresh ditched the green totes and acquired Whole Foods, their quality has gone downhill. Their selection is slacking, they use awful frozen water bottles to keep stuff cold which doesn't, the produce quality is terrible, and half the time the packing ruins something in my order. I was on a quest to find a solution. I loved the idea of Click List from Fred Meyer but there wasn't one that was close enough to make sense and that still meant driving to the store (I know how lazy right?). Then I found Shipt. It's like Instacart. They have a few stores available b...

Meal Plan Week of July 30th

Summer is HOT and it's here to stay! We're keeping up the spirit of grilling and cooking outside as much as possible this week. Last week was delicious. Especially those pork burgers! Sorry I didn't capture any pictures. This week's menu: I found Beyond Burgers again! Stay tuned for another blog post on food delivery. Bye Bye Amazon Fresh! So of course we'll be grilling those up this week. I loved the foil packets so I wanted some other foil packet inspiration. We're doing Italian sausage and ravioli foil packs with peppers and onion! Veggie Garden Update!

Image
Looking good!! The zucchini is growing FAST! I can't wait! Radish, broccoli, and cucumber on one side doing well. The peppers are flourishing along with brussels, and carrots. Spinach is the only thing not looking great but for this being our first year I'm quite impressed and excited. Two types of tomatoes too - roma and cherry!

Meal Plan Week of July 8th - 13th

Image
I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July! We did some WORK to the house/yard for 4 days. Bring on summer now that our backyard, deck, garden, etc looks AMAZING! This week's meals come from cookbook inspiration. I have some good cook books I decided to bust those out this week. But first, can we talk about the delicious stuff we ate this last week? The ribs and homemade BBQ sauce were to DIE FOR! The s'mores ice cream was out of this world. Craig loved the cauliflower shawarma. This week I'm cooking out of the Dinner by Melissa Clark cookbook and Chrissy Teigen's first cookbook (her new one is on pre-order of course).

Crispy Prosciutto Egg Cups

Image
New breakfast meal prep! It's a short week and I didn't want to make a whole frittata. This weeks' tasty breakfast is Crispy Prosciutto Egg Cups! Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray muffin tins and then line with prosciutto. Top meat with egg mixture. I used broccoli, cheese, and seasoned eggs. Bake at 375 for 20 min and voila! Egg cups!

Meal Plan Week of 4th of July!

Who isn't ready for the sun to came back and to BBQ and drink on the patio??? We are enjoying a "work on the house" staycation next week. Which means grilling time! This last week we ate out a couple nights so I've still go steak to cook up somehow and salmon cakes. The Mediterranean salad for the week was great! Craig loved the empanadas! I'm also obsessed with my Sunday meal prep frittata for the week! This week we'll be doing some grilling of course! I also have to balance out that meat with some vegetarian of course. Gaby's Ribs! So excited for these! I'll probably pair them with some slaw and grilled corn. https://whatsgabycooking.com/spicy-baby-back-ribs/ Burgers of course!! You know me, Beyond burgs :) with some watermelon and baked fries Bring on the veggies with Zucchini Parm Pasta - I can't wait till our zucchini in our garden grows and we can use our own. https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/simplest-z...

Meal Plan Week of June 16-June 29 - Bonus Week!

Whoopsie! I'm behind! So you get TWO weeks of meals plans put together! This week we've been enjoying: Beyond Burgers - honestly we make these once a week. They're so easy and so good! They're in hot demand now! Our Haagen store is sold out until like mid July! Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods are the main stores they're distributing to. Instant Pot Pulled Pork Sammies -  https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/instant-pot-barbecue-pulled-pork-sandwiches-3649647 Made these last night with some corn on the cob, watermelon, and slaw from Gaby's cookbook. Perfect summer night meal! The pork was so good! Roasted Veggie Orzo -  https://vanillaandbean.com/lemon-garlic-orzo-with-roasted-vegetables/ This is another popular rotater in our house. So so easy to ...

Meal Planning Week of June 11-15

Image
Last week we didn't make everything we planned on so those will carry over to this week. Meeting Gaby was SO FUN! I can't wait to cook out of her cookbook. Also very very sad about Anthony Bourdain. Craig got his cookbook for Christmas last year so we'll definitely be cooking out of that one. I added a new recipe this week on the fly, the empanadas were amazing. That dough is just the best! Here are some highlights from the week: We didn't make the pasta or the korean tacos so we'll try and get those in this week or at least use the meat for something else. It's going to be a busy week with late night work stuff so we won't be having many dinners at home this week. I will however be making another frittata! Those are perfect for breakfast for the whole week! On the menu: Pizza paninis - I'll be making the skinny taste dough for mine but Craig is making a sammy. General Tsos Cauliflower - https://pinchofyum.com/gene...

It's a short week and I'm behind on posting! We had a great week of meal planning, made all by the grilled caesars. This weekend was a super fun and very productive Memorial Weekend. The garden is planted, the veggie garden is in progress, and the fire pit is half way there! So ready for summer! Last week we enjoyed our meals: Since it's a short week this week's meals are a little of Gabby and an instant pot. Speaking of Gabby my friend Jessica and I are going to MEET HER next weekend! One week in the books! This week was delicious, on budget, and matched well with the weather. We got to have one grilling night! Here's a review of the meals this week: These bagels are so good and so easy! The pasta was okay. There is another roasted veggie pasta I makes with orzo that is really good so I think I’ll make that one next time. The one night we got to grill! Beyond Burgers with Chrissy Tiegens burger sauce recipe. Her burger sauce is bomb! Mayo, ketchup, chopped up pickles, and Cholula. Try it! And corn on the cob because it screams summer. The picture isn’t great but these are the foil packets. So versatile! You can put any protein and/or veggie in there. Hubby was not super excited about these until we had them! Instant Pot!! This cabbage soup is so yummy! Makes great lunch leftovers too. I always add a little oregano and a garlic glove to the recipe. That was all the dinner. Then I...

Meal Plan Week of May 6 - May 11

I like to be flexible with my meal plans. I have the meals for the week but not always which day. Depends if I’m working out after work, if we have plans, or the weather. Yay for summer grilling season! There’s a few blogs I frequent that you’ll see a lot on here: https://www.skinnytaste.com/ https://whatsgabycooking.com/ https://pinchofyum.com/ I’m also obsessed with our Instant Pot! Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to my new blog! If you know me you know I love food and meal planning. I used to have a fitness blog which turned into food posts mostly. I stopped doing that for awhile so now it’s time to bring back the food posts! I get a lot of questions on how I plan or what I plan so it’ll all be here. Hopefully give you some recipe inspiration and show that’s its fairly easy to plan, budget, and prep. I’m addicted to it!
